italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies

Re query on editorial fortunes by Tom Willette:

There is a series called "I classici italiani nella storia della
critica" (Palermo, Palumbo) and there is certainly a volume on
Boccaccio, authored, by Franco Fido. Of course, these volumes are in
Italian, I do not know whether the one on Boccaccio has been translated.

italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies

Dear Professor Papio,
While this is not a direct response to your call for book reviews, I

wonder if you would entertain a question that relates in any case to
Boccaccio. For a book on the publication history and reception of the
editio princeps of the VITA of Benvenuto Cellini (Naples 1730) I am
studying the editorial fortunes of Dante, Boccaccio, Galileo and other
representatives of the Tuscan language whose works were reprinted,
sometimes clandestinely, in the first decades of the 18th century. I
have
made good use, for instance, of Domenico Pietropaolo's DANTE STUDIES IN
THE
AGE OF VICO. However, I have not found any similar study of Boccaccio's
writings, and I wonder if you might, off the top of your head, be able
to
suggest where I might look for a synthetic account of Boccaccio's
importance in the early Settecento. I would be very grateful for any
advice.
   With best wishes, Tom Willette
