Dear all, JISC is pleased to announce the launch of two online information sources relating to Records Management which will be of benefit to all working in this area within the FE & HE sectors. The 'Records Management infoKit' is a toolKit aimed at FE Colleges and small institutions who do not have a professional records manager. It provides a step by step guide to managing all aspects of the records lifecycle and ensuring legislative compliance. This kit is available from: http://www.jiscinfonet.ac.uk/InfoKits/records-management JISC InfoNet will be running regional workshops based on the infoKit from January 2005 with further details to follow shortly. The 'EDRM System Implementation Toolkit' is the second of our Applied infoKits and has been developed by Cimtech, the UK's centre of expertise on Document, Records and Content Management based at the University of Hertfordshire. This toolkit is designed for institutions who are considering setting up an EDRM project and is designed as a best practice guide which can be read by a project team prior to setting up a project. The objective of this toolkit is to provide institutional Records Managers and other information professionals with a 'one-stop shop' for impartial, detailed and practical advice of use during all the stages of a proposed or actual EDRM system implementation that is free from vendor bias and specific to the needs of the FE/HE sector. The online version of this toolkit is available from http://www.jiscinfonet.ac.uk/InfoKits/edrm With thanks Steve ---------------------- Steve Bailey, Records Manager Joint Information Systems Committee Tel: 07092 302850 Email: [log in to unmask]
