medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Er, Marjorie, as you've since guessed, they're not the same guy.
Although you put quotes around "Giuliano da Palermo" in your message
reproduced below (sans most of my original post, which I've now
truncated), my guess is that you did not do so when you actually
performed your Google search. Because what came up was a _Catholic
Encyclopedia_ article that has the character strings "Giuliano", "da",
and "Palermo" in it but not the single character string "Giuliano da
Palermo".

Giuliano da Maiano (the Giuliano of the article, which is on his brother
Benedetto) was a Florentine sculptor who also performed important
commissions elsewhere in Italy. He died in Naples in 1490.

Best,
John Dillon
