I am aware that some public libraries offer customers a book buying service=
, where customers can order any book (subject to availability) by filling o=
ut an online form or paper form at a library. The book is then ordered dire=
ctly from a supplier.

I would like to know which suppliers provide this service and does the libr=
ary service make any money to cover admin costs? How fast is the service on=
 average?

Thanks

We are investigating the purchase and use of electronic resources in the UK
public libraries.

We would particularly like to know if;

* Any authorities have written policies/strategies relating to the
purchase of online resources?
* What factors are considered before purchasing any online
subscriptions?
* How these resources are evaluated?
* How public libraries are balancing the purchase of electronic
compared to hard-copy resources?

Thank you
