Apologies for cross-posting Dear all in response to a recent query, Marguerite Brenchley, Librarian at the Commission's UK Representation, has been enquiring as to whether we can expect to see an authoritative electronic version of the OJ online in the foreseeable future. Marguerite has kindly agreed that I can summarise the response on Eurodoc and Eurotalk. Axccording to her source, there are currently two member states in which the electronic version of the text is authoritative: France and Austria. In France it took two years to implement this, whilst in Austria a change in the constitutionwas necessary in order to achieve it. Given these facts and the number of states involved, it is clearly likely to be some time before we can expect to see a universally applicable authoritative version online. There are also questions as to whether both print and electronic versions should be authoritative, or whether perhaps print might eventually disappear altogether. So although these matters are under active consideration, as the Commission source observed, 'patience is necessary'.
