Conference Committee Moving Forward: IDA Tax Credit Amendment Expected Soon Wednesday September 29th, the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate began joint consideration of H.R. 4520, the American Jobs Creation act of 2004 (also known as the "JOBS bill" or the "FSC-ETI bill"). This conference committee is the best opportunity we have had in the past five years to pass the IDA tax credit, as Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) is proposing an amendment that would add the IDA tax credit to the bill. Despite this promising action, however, there will be an uphill battle to get the amendment included in the final package. As soon as specific information becomes available, an Action Alert provided by cfed will provide the tools needed to encourage the conferees to include the IDA tax credit in the final bill. The timing and the volume of grassroots support will be critical.
