Dear All,
We are interested in simple summaries of evidence - of both beneficial and
harmful effects, and in relative and absolute terms.
These have been called Summaries of Evidence, Clinical Balance Sheets, and
various other names.
We are currently preparing a proposal for Cochrane Reviews, and are
interested to know of examples.
As there is no standard naming, these are hard to search for, so we would
appreciate any guidance.

The earliest we have found are ones by David Eddy in the 1980's (e.g, in
JAMA). More recent ones include:
Braddick M, Stuart M, Hrachovec J. The use of balance sheets in developing
clinical guidelines. J Am Board Fam Pract. 1999 Jan-Feb;12(1):48-54.
Maceneaney PM, Malone DE. Applying 'evidence-based medicine' theory to
interventional radiology. Part 2: a spreadsheet for swift assessment of
procedural benefit and harm. Clin Radiol. 2000 Dec;55(12):938-45.
and many AHCPR guidelines have some form of clinical balance sheet as a
summary.

Other suggestions?

Many thanks
