Dear All

The issue of Ganglia was raised in several conversations I had during
GridPP11 this week, but unfortunately we did not get a chance to discuss
plans for it in the deployment parallel session.

Currently only these sites are publishing information: Lancaster,
Manchester, ManHEP, Sheffield, RAL-Tier1A, QMUL e-Science, Liverpool and
Bristol.

I understand that some sites do have plans to address this issue and will
start publishing soon. However, we need all UK sites to produce this
information so that we get a complete view of GridPP resources. This is the
only way that Andrew can develop required UK and Tier-2 resource maps (see
original request below).

Please can all relevant system administrators contact their Tier-2
coordinator or myself with information about their current status and
plans/issues with regard to Ganglia (e.g. installed but behind a firewall -
available soon, installation problems, no plans). If your site requires help
installing Ganglia please let me know. This is one area where I would like
to make rapid progress in the next few weeks but it does require a community
effort.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards,
Jeremy

Sorry guys, this seems to have fallen through the cracks during the GridPP
1 to 2 changeover. This the current list of Ganglia daemons the GridPP
page is pulled from:

data_source "Manchester Tier-2" bohr0000.tier2.hep.man.ac.uk:8651
data_source "DZeroFarm ManHEP" dfa.hep.man.ac.uk df00.hep.man.ac.uk
 df10.hep.man.ac.uk df20.hep.man.ac.uk
data_source "BaBarFarm Bristol" duck.phy.bris.ac.uk:8651
data_source "HTC QMUL" www.esc.qmul.ac.uk:8651
data_source "Sheffield HEP" 143.167.250.1:6375
data_source "RAL Tier1A" ganglia.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:8651
data_source "Lancaster" pyc008000004.lancs.ac.uk:8651

(Lancaster now works, as of 5 minutes ago.) Please send me any more
machine names people want adding. Steve's excellent FAQ at
http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/tb-support/faq/ganglia.html about setting up
Ganglia on LCG and dealing with firewalls.

Cheers,

 Andrew
