The problem seems deeper rooted than that. There appear to be no
autofs configuration files on the WN at all.

Neither of these files are there:
[root@oracle root]# ls /etc/obj/a*
/etc/obj/afs /etc/obj/auth /etc/obj/authconfig
and
[root@oracle root]# ls /etc/auto.*
/etc/auto.master /etc/auto.misc
There's clearly a step I'm missing here. Alessandra's advice about the
RPM at least got my profile to compile. What's odd, though, is that
the XML profile does contain something that looks at least vaguely
related:
