medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Greetings, all. While reading Geoffrey of Vinsauf's Poetria Nova, I've come across an example he uses for personification, which is the "complaint of the holy cross". I am familiar with the image from the Anglo-Saxon poem Dream of the Rood, but I am unfamiliar with other versions, or its actual source. Could anyone suggest where I might find more information on the complaining cross? Much appreciated. cheers Amy Amy Airhart PhD Candidate University of Toronto Toronto, Ontario ********************************************************************** To join the list, send the message: join medieval-religion YOUR NAME to: [log in to unmask] To send a message to the list, address it to: [log in to unmask] To leave the list, send the message: leave medieval-religion to: [log in to unmask] In order to report problems or to contact the list's owners, write to: [log in to unmask] For further information, visit our web site: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/medieval-religion.html
