This information may be of some interest. The biggest news at Microsoft's Tech.Ed event in Amsterdam last week was about the launch of "Express" (i.e. cut-down, low-cost) versions of Visual Studio and SQL Server. The company stated that these were aimed at hobbyists, enthusiasts and students, and it is the last of these that probably motivated this move from Microsoft, as the strategists in Redmond are doutbless concerned about the growing use of Java as the language of choice within colleges and universities. The Express product line includes Web Developer, Visual Basic, Visual C#, Visual C++ and Visual J# editions. http://tr.mx0.net/r?cJnvPJEcWHqEvPJTH Thank You David Evans Historic Environment Record Officer 01454 863649 ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it from South Gloucestershire Council are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
