It is part of the Learning and Teaching Support Network whose aim is to promote high quality learning and teaching across all UK Higher Education Institutions. The Subject Centre wishes to appoint an Academic Co-ordinator for Languages and Related Studies to assist with the effective delivery of Subject Centre Strategy. The key task will be to deliver a programme of activity (staff development workshops, meetings, resources development) in languages and related studies in consultation with the Senior Academic Co-ordinators and to participate in Subject Centre administration. The successful candidate will hold a first degree in the area of languages and related studies and will have experience of working in an HE context. Experience of Pedagogical research issues is also required. A postgraduate qualification and/or research interest in a related area would be an advantage. The postholder will be based at the University of Southampton. The post is offered for a fixed term of 1 September 2004 to 31 December 2004 in the first instance with a strong possibility of extending it to 31 July 2005. The post is part time hours of 80% of full time equivalent. Salary will be between £21,852 to £28,279 pro rata per annum on the Other Related Grade 2 (ATF2) salary scale.
