Dear WG Members,
My apologies for the cross-post.

A new version of the Registry was installed today (v 3.2.0). This release
includes 2 important new features:

- a better method of illustrating the relationship between terms, encoding
schemes, and controlled vocabulary terms
- support for usage examples.

The item detail screen now includes a list of the encoding schemes related
to that term. Likewise, the detail screen for encoding schemes include
related controlled vocabulary terms. The following 2 examples illustrate
this nicely:

http://dublincore.org/dcregistry/detailServlet?reqType=detail&item=http%3A%2
F%2Fpurl.org%2Fdc%2Felements%2F1.1%2Ftype

http://dublincore.org/dcregistry/detailServlet?reqType=detail&item=http%3A%2
F%2Fpurl.org%2Fdc%2Fterms%2FDCMIType

Additionally, the Registry now supports usage examples for each term. The
detail listing for dcmitype:Image
(http://dublincore.org/dcregistry/detailServlet?reqType=detail&item=http%3A%
2F%2Fpurl.org%2Fdc%2Fdcmitype%2FImage) includes 2 usage examples; one for
RDF/XML and another for XML. Click on either of these examples to view it.
The display provided is intended to be a plain encoding format, suitable for
cutting-and-pasting into your own documents. Note that browsers with
limited XML support may have to 'view source' to see the complete example.

I have created usage examples for a small portion of the existing terms and
will add more as time allows. I would also like to solicit contributions
from the WG for additional examples. If you have encoding examples that
you feel others could benefit from, and would like to share them with the
community, please contribute them. Examples can be applied to any term,
including local extensions. They can also be written in any language, and
terms can have an unlimited number of examples.

As always, your question, comments and suggestions are most welcome.

Best Regards,
Harry Wagner
