Byddwn yn gwerthfawrogi unrhyw awgrymiadau ar gyfer yr uchod. Dyma ddisgrifiad o’r term y dois o hyd iddo ar y We mewn rhagarweiniad i lyfr yn dwyn y teitl ‘Buildability – A Perennial Problem’. Problem yn wir!

Buildability can be defined as ‘the extent to which the design of the building facilitates ease of construction, subject to the overall requirements for the completed building’. This has not, however, always been the interpretation of the term, with the definition itself evolving over the last 30 years.

Buildability has traditionally focused on problems arising in the design and construction phases. Nowadays it is taken to have a wider remit, which addresses the whole lifecycle of the building. This wider remit emphasises the applicability of the concept to all project participants. Buildability cannot be effective as a stand-alone tool. It has to be implemented as part of a programme that clearly specifies the primary project objectives and allows buildability to be assessed as a project performance attribute. Buildability objectives should also be clearly identified for the different roles and responsibilities of the various members of the project team.
