Postgraduate Prize ? 2004

The POWS Postgraduate Prize
To be awarded for a 3000 word article based on a piece of original
postgraduate research. The article must be clearly related to the work
carried out as part of a postgraduate thesis or dissertation, and discuss
some original findings.  Submissions must not have been published
previously, and should be relevant to one of the following themes:

· Sexuality & Health
· Feminism & Fashion
· Otherness: ?race?, disability, difference

You could win
· A £200 Cash Prize
· Two years subscription to the leading international journal Feminism &
Psychology
· The opportunity to present your prize winning research at the 2004
POWS Conference in Brighton, where the Postgraduate Prize will be awarded
(conference registration fees will be waived)
· Publication of your submission in the POWS Review (subject to the
normal peer review process)

Who is eligible?
Current UK based Postgraduate students and those who have submitted their
thesis or dissertation within the last 12 months. Submissions are welcomed
from students researching all areas of Psychology, Fashion, Nursing and
Midwifery.

How to enter
(1) You need to submit a short abstract (max 250 words) or your article by
the 15th April 2003.
(2) Feedback on your abstract will be given by 1st May.
(3) Subject to acceptance of the abstract, the deadline for submission of
the full article will be the 20th May.  Please submit 4 copies of the
abstract and (if and once accepted) 4 copies of the article. All abstracts
and completed articles will be reviewed by three members of the POWS
committee, as well as from one external expert in your research area.
(4) The winner of the prize will be notified by the 12th June and the prize
will be awarded at the POWS Conference 7th-9th July.
