medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Greetings

I am interested if any texts have been identified as having influenced Chaucer in the writing of 'The Parson's Tale'. The work seems to be distinctly separate from the rest of 'the Canterbury Tales'. It reminds me more of  'Pricke of Conscience' or 'Cursor Mundi' . Ideas welcome.

Thank you.
