Lecturer in Italian Studies (tenable from 1 September 2004)

Required to contribute to postgraduate and undergraduate teaching, pursue personal research and undertake appropriate administration. You will be an active researcher in any area of Italian, but a specialism in one (or more) of the following areas would be an advantage: the history and culture of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance; linguistics and/or the history of the language; contemporary cultural theory. The post offers an exceptional opportunity for scholars at an early stage in their professional career to contribute to and gain experience in one of the country's leading departments of Italian.

You will have a first degree in an appropriate discipline, a PhD or equivalent (or have completed by the commencement of the post) with native or near native command of both English and Italian.

Starting salary on a range of £22,191 - £25,451.
