REMINDER

The deadline for abstract submission for GeoMod2004 (FEBRUARY 15, 2004) is
approaching.

Abstracts can be submitted on-line through the conference website at:
http://www.ogs.trieste.it/GeoMod/

The GeoMod2004 conference "From Mountains to Sedimentary Basins: Modelling
and Testing Geological Processes" brings together geoscientists from
universities and industry who deal with analogue and/or numerical models.
The meeting takes place in Emmetten (Lake Lucerne), Switzerland from June
9-11, 2004 and will cover the following main topics:

1. Surface Processes
2. Orogenesis
3. Sedimentary Basins
4. Fractures, Faults and Fluid Flow
5. Geological Predictions
6. Methods and Techniques

We particularly encourage contributions in which modelling results are
tested against real-world case studies, or compared with results from other
model studies. The number of participants is limited to 150.

A pre-conference analogue and numerical benchmark test will be held on June
8, 2004 and modelling labs from Amsterdam, Bern, Florence, Kingston, Kyoto,
Parma, Potsdam, Rennes, Rome, Rueil Malmaison, Toronto and Uppsala have
already expressed their interest in participating. Post-conference field
trips are offered on June 12, 2004.

To ensure the widest possible distribution of contributions, participants
are invited to submit extended abstracts (max. 4 pages) which will be
published in a special issue of the international journal Bollettino di
Geofisica.

Invited speakers
Knut Bjorlykke (Oslo), Stephane Bonnet (Rennes), Jean Braun (Canberra),
Sierd Cloetingh (Amsterdam), Stephan Duppenbecker (BP), Susan Ellis (Lower
Hutt, NZ), Taras Geryas (Bochum), Didier Granjeon (IFP), Nina Kukowski (GFZ
Potsdam), Martin Perlmutter (Chevron-Texaco), John Tabor (Shell), Bruno
