Two exciting opportunities to join the new East Midlands Public
Health Observatory team working to develop the use of health
information to improve population health and reduce inequalities in
the East Midlands. The following advert will appear in tomorrow's

Senior Public Health Analyst (ref 09/03)
c£32,000 pa, depending on qualifications and experience

Health Information Specialist (ref 10/03)
c£30,000 pa, depending on qualifications and experience

Located near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire from April 2003, the East
Midlands Public Health Observatory (EMPHO) is one of nine
regional observatories linked together to form a national network of
knowledge, information and surveillance in public health.

We are looking to appoint a senior public health analyst to provide
public health information and analysis support to the North
Nottinghamshire PCTs and to actively contribute to the
development and delivery of the EMPHO work programme.
Educated to degree level, you will have a good knowledge of
sources of public health information and have extensive experience
of analysing, interpreting and presenting health related data. You
will also be a skilled computer user and have excellent analytical
and communication skills.

We are also looking to appoint an experienced health information
specialist to lead on the development and management of
EMPHO's  databases and analytical and GIS tools. A graduate
with extensive experience in health related data management, you
will be an expert user of database and analytical tools and will have
a strong commitment to team working and achieving results.

Successful candidates will be expected to network with colleagues
within and beyond the East Midlands with a view to sharing
knowledge and skills and improving the effectiveness of EMPHO.
