Could I alert the list to the forthcoming Oxford Amnesty Lecture series, on the subject of ‘displacement, asylum, migration’, between 28th January and 27th February? Speakers are Slavoj Zizek, Bhikhu Parekh, Caryl Phillips, Saskia Sassen, Harold Hongju Koh, Jacqueline Rose and Ali Mazrui, and although they are not all affiliated geographers, their lectures consider the movement of people and its relation to human rights. Phillips, for example, will speak on 'crossing borders', Sassen on political subjectivity in the global city, Koh on 'the new global slave trade'. For full lecture titles, dates and further details, please see www.oxford- amnesty-lectures.org . I hope the series will be of interest. Thanks, Melissa McCarthy
