Phil and list-serve members, For those wanting to register onto the esd site- the url is http://www.esd-toolkit.org However looking at the LGCL, I am afraid the Top level headings are based on what someone would expect of a web-site and not an hierarchical structure based on how records managers, archivists and librarians would organise records. For example why are Jobs & Careers put in the same Top level Heading as Education/Housing etc etc. I am concerned that we will be asked to implement this system when it does not appear to be relevant to the organisation of the Authority and its records. In my earlier reply I referred to the separate LGCL which is closely linked to the LAWS program. I am happy to prefer LGCL which is of more practical benefit and 'ignore' the compulsory schema because there is alraedy developed a clear 1 to 1 mapping between the two at http://www.esd.org.uk/standards/lgcl/1.02/lgclgclmapping.xml Anyone wishing to find out what is happening in this area would benefit from looking at the FAQ section of the ESD Toolkit site http://www.esd.org.uk.
