I looked at DNA in zooarchaeology as a part of my Masters research, which I
hope to publish sometime fairly soon. In the meantime, here are a random
selection of some useful papers I came across. In particular, anything by
the Browns gives a useful insight into the articulation of genetics and
archaeology.

Adalsteinsson, S. 1989: The Origin of the Icelanders and their Farm Animals,
North Atlantic Studies, the Faroe Islands 1: 57-61.

Allen, M. S., Matisoo-Smith, E. and Horsburgh, A. 2001: Pacific "Babes":
Issues in the Origins and Dispersal of Pacific Pigs and the Potential of
Mitochondrial DNA Analysis, International Journal of Osteoarchaeology 11:
4-13.

Barnes, I., Young, J. P. W. and Dobney, K. M. 2000: DNA-based Identification
of Goose Species from Two Archaeological Sites in Lincolnshire, Journal of
Archaeological Science 27: 91-100.

Brown, T. A. and Brown, K. A. 1992: Ancient DNA and the Archaeologist,
Antiquity 66: 10-23.

Brown, T. A. 1999: How Ancient DNA May Help in Understanding the Origin and
Spread of Agriculture, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of
London (B) 354: 89-98.

Brown, K. 2000: 'Ancient DNA Applications in Human Osteoarchaeology:
Achievements, Problems And Potential', In M. Cox and Mays, S. A. (ed.),
Human Osteology in Archaeology and Forensic Science, London: Greenwich
Medical Media, pp.455-473

Brown, K. A. and Pluciennik, M. 2001: Archaeology and Human Genetics:
Lessons for Both, Antiquity 75: 101-106.

Evison, M. P. 1996: Genetics, Ethics and Archaeology, Antiquity 70: 512-514.

Hardy, C., Casane, D., Vigne, J. D., Callou, C., Dennebouy, N., Mounolou, J.
C. and Monnerot, M. 1994: Ancient DNA from Bronze Age Bones of European
Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), Experientia 50: 564-570.

Haynes, S., Jaarola, M. and Searle, J. B. 2003: Phylogeography of the Common
Vole (Microtus arvalis) with Particular Emphasis on the Colonization of the
Orkney Archipelago, Molecular Ecology 12: 951-956.

Hope that helps

Steve
