A Managed E-Learning Solution:
From e-pedagogy to e-platform incorporating a Federated Digital Repository
16th February 2004

Cranfield University has recently secured a major contract with the Defence
Academy of the UK to provide a fully managed distance learning solution for
Army officer education.

Because this project has generated interest in the HE and corporate
communities this seminar has been organised to share the experience and
proposed solution with colleagues in the academic sector at an early stage
of the project. We welcome attendance and seek the opportunity to
collaborate on the development of managed e-learning solutions.

The solution reflects the need to incorporate the following interconnecting
elements:

                        *       Learning Activities
                        *       Learning Support
                        *       Learning Resources
                        *       Collaborative production
                        * Integrated Project Teamwork - creating the
virtual community

The day will cover:

                        *       E-pedagogy
                        * The importance of learning design -in the
trenches
                        *       The federated digital repository
                        *       The case study
                        *       The Standards - a reality check
                        * On demand architecture - making the model
work
                        * The guide on the side - support models
