Apologies for cross posting.

Thinktank, Birmingham's museum of science and discovery, has received funding to commission 6 new science shows.

Are you an experienced science show writer?

Thinktank would like to invite applications from experienced science show writers to script and source props for 6 new science shows.

Thinktank is looking for 3 new shows for family audiences and 3 new shows for schools. At least one of the family shows should have a transport/ travel theme, the other topics are negotiable but should link strongly to the content of the museum's exhibitions. The school shows should cover the following National Curriculum themes and be pitched at the following audiences: 1 KS3 on Energy, 1 KS2 on Light and Colour and 1 KS2 on the Earth and Beyond. We are particularly interested in developing a Light and Colour show for students with Special Educational Needs and would be interested to hear from show writers with expertise in this area.

Shows should be no more than 30 minutes in length and will be delivered by our team of Education Officers and Enablers in our Thinktank Theatre.

A fee of £1500 is available per show and there is an additional £700 available to spend on props for each new show.

If you are interested in applying to write one or more of these shows please send a letter of application to the address below detailing what you think makes a good science show. You should also include a recent CV and indicate your previous experience in writing science shows. Please state in your application letter how many and which shows you would like to write and when you would be able to complete them.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 25th February 2004.

Please send your letter of application to:
