Postgraduate/Junior scientist Outreach Competition
Sponsored by the Higher Education Academy Centre for Bioscience and Society for Experimental Biology
We are offering two prizes (worth up to £250 to cover registration fees, travel etc to the SEB's Barcelona Meeting 2004 - http://www.sebiology.org/Meetings/pageview.asp?S=2&mid=23) to the best outreach teaching activities being carried out by a junior scientist/postgraduate student. This may include activities in schools, in the local community, within the university or institution, as well as web pages and other publications.

Submissions should be made to Sarah Blackford ([log in to unmask]) in the form of an abstract (min words: 500; max: 1000). This should include: poster title, your name, institution and email address, details of the target audience, aims, methods/activities undertaken, outcomes and references (if appropriate). Interesting anecdotal details as well as more formal results are welcomed. Supporting images, diagrams and illustrative material may also be included. If the activity was sponsored or undertaken as part of a national scheme or project, please give details.

The abstracts will be judged by the SEB and the Higher Education Academy Centre for Bioscience and the two winners will be invited to present their activities in the form of a poster at the SEB meeting.
All entrants will have the opportunity to present their activities on the Centre's website (subject to approval by the Centre).
