Invitation to nominate
The Mullard Award is awarded annually by the Council of the Royal Society to an individual who has an outstanding academic record in any area of natural science, engineering or technology and whose work is currently making or has the potential to make a contribution to national prosperity in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The Award is aimed at younger scientists, engineers and technologists, typically (though not exclusively) in their early to mid 30s, and consists of a silver gilt medal, a prize of £2000 and a travel/conference grant of up to £1500.
The Award forms part of the Royal Society’s commitment to reward innovation in science, and to recognise science’s contributions to wealth creation in the UK. We are keen that nominations are sought as broadly as possible across the scientific disciplines in academia and industry across the country.
Full details of the Award, including an on-line nomination form, can be accessed at www.royalsoc.ac.uk/mullard. Self-nominations are allowable and the closing date for nominations is 30 June 2004.
