This new post at BBSRC will expand and develop current activities in science communication and public engagement. Educated to degree level, and with at least four years of experience of science and society issues, the postholder will develop and implement strategies for effective dialogue and engagement on the biological sciences in areas such as gene technologies, food science and animal welfare. S/he will also advise senior management of emerging ethical and other issues associated with bioscience research, and contribute to policy development. The postholder will be Deputy Head of BBSRC's External Relations Unit, and will have line management responsibility for BBSRC's exhibitions and schools liaison work.
