Our October meeting will be at the RSS on October
20th (2-5pm) on discrete choice experiments and raasch modelling. Terry Flynn
will talk about:
Best-Worst
Scaling - A new type of discrete choice modelling
In eliciting patient
preferences, statements like "Quality of care is far
more highly valued than
waiting time" can be neither refuted nor supported
using traditional
discrete choice modelling. Best-worst scaling overcomes
such problems of
estimating attribute importance. Its advantages will be
illustrated with
some preliminary simulation results showing its relative
strengths.
Kerry Hood will talk about her experiences of being
involved in discrete choice experiments in primary care,
and we have a speaker from Belgium talking about
raasch modelling.
I'll send round more details when I have
them.
Best wishes
Sandra
p.s. I have also today put correct titles and
dates by some of the talks on the primstat file area which I noticed had
managed to get in a muddle! Should make more sense now. Have a look at http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/files/PRIMSTAT/ if
you're interested.
