CALL FOR PAPERS
Special Issue: "Supply Chain Modelling and Simulation"
https://www.inderscience.com/browse/callpaper.php?callID=67

Guest Editor: Dr. Sanjay Jain, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University

In the current world of global manufacturing, it is no longer one
manufacturer competing against other manufacturers. Manufacturers, their
suppliers and their logistics providers have to work jointly together to
get the products to the end-user efficiently and cost effectively. They
have to integrate together as a supply chain and compete against other
supply chains providing competitive products.

Simulation can be effectively used to model supply chains and associated
business processes and evaluate and identify strategies for improvement.
It is noted that most current applications are at a high level, intended
to determine parameters that help achieve the overall supply chain
performance goals. Benefits can be appreciably increased through the use
of simulation at more detailed levels. There is a need for industries to
go through steps to achieve end-to-end supply chain simulation. Simulation
can also be effectively used to explore options for integration between
logistics, manufacturing and business processes and prove the importance
of integration in determining overall performance. It can support the
supply chain through its life cycle - from concept through design,
operation and eventual dissolution.

Subject Coverage
This special issue welcomes both academic and practical contributions in
all aspects of modelling and simulating supply chain and associated
processes in various life cycle phases. Contributions are invited for both
manufacturing and service supply chains. Relevant topics may include, but
are not limited to, the following:
- Modelling and simulation for supply chain design including evaluation of
alternate partners and location of manufacturing and distribution
facilities
- Modelling and simulation of supply chain operation
- Modelling and simulation of growth options for supply chain
- Modelling and simulation of supply chain dissolution
- Supply chain performance optimisation through simulation
- Supply chain execution and event monitoring process modelling and
simulation
- Supply chain planning and scheduling using simulation
- Hybrid optimisation and simulation for supply chain
- Hierarchical simulation of supply chains and member entities
- Integration of system dynamics simulation and discrete event simulation
for analysing supply chains
- Modelling and simulation of supply chain collaborative processes
- Methodologies for integrating processes across partners in a supply chain
- Translating the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model to dynamic
simulations

Notes for Intending Authors
All papers are refereed through a double blind process. A guide for
authors, sample copies and other relevant information for submitting
papers are available on the Papers Submission section under

To submit a paper, please go to https://www.inderscience.com/papers

This is our preferred route for submitting papers; please use it if at all
possible. However, if you experience any problems submitting papers in this
way, an alternative route is suggested below.
Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently
under consideration for publication elsewhere
