I report to the head of compensation and benefits ( HR).

The HR director is my "champion" which has been key in getting support
for moving things forward etc.

Previously at this firm the OHA reported to H and S, at this time OH
had a much lower profile and a high turnover of OHAs. An audit by an
external consultancy recommended that OH be moved to sit within HR and
was championed by a senior figure ( partner or equivalent) . I feel that
I have a lot of support and am very much left to manage OH, however, I
am a
aware of other similar firms where OH comes under HR and the
relationship is not a happy one

Subject: Occupational Health structure

Dear all

I would be very grateful if anyone is willing to give information on
where
Occupational Health ' sits' within their organisation eg within HR,
Safety
or stand alone, and the rationale for this (if there is any!). Also,
information on the reporting structure, and where organisations are
widespread, on UK and global reporting structure.

Many thanks
Regards
Margaret
