Hi Su

We  use a Portacount Plus Respirator fit tester. Face fit testing is a method for checking the person's facial features matches and seals adequately to the wearers face and can be used to test all types of RPE so I'm told, though we only use 2 types here. It gives a fit factor counting the particle inside the mask whilst the wearer performs a number of tasks.

Hi All
Can anyway tell me what testing kit/process they are using for testing respiratory masks? I have info about a Fit test kit from 3M that involves the mask wearer sticking their head in a bag that is then filled with either sweet or bitter solution and if they taste it, the mask is a poor fit! I am concerned that this test may be a bit subjective, especially if the mask wearer is expecting a taste or does not wish to carry out the work! I also believe that there is particle testing kit. Any advice?
