hi donna i will only go out accompanied by another, at present this is a HR officer or line manager, i try to encourage the person to visit the workplace for OH assessment (having a severe cat allergy helps with this in some cases!!) I explain to the employee that the manager/HRO will sit in the car and wait, if they consent to their presence i insist the HRO/Manager sign a confidentiality agreement in that anything they hear must be forgotten etc and not used when making any decisions.(often the managers know more about the individuals health than i do!) this is not ideal however i tend to use it to do a 'mini' assessment and gain consent for reports. the rationale for this procedure is that whilst the employee is known to the company, visitors to their house are not. try the suzy lampugh trust they have a section on safety at work and resources to download and buy. jacqui Donna Dixon <[log in to unmask]> wrote: Hi Folks I appreciate and am aware that home visits are not a routine function of OH and do not wish to start a debate on this issue. However, I would be grateful if any of you out there could share any of your home visits procedures with me or know of any health visitors/district nurses/GP's who follow a specific procedure for home visits. As an OH provider, we are asked on occasions to undertake home visits, and are in the process or reviewing our procedure, taking into account both staff safety and client need. I look forward to hearing from you as always Regards Donna --------------------------------- ALL-NEW Yahoo!
