Briefly there are 2 issues.
1. Dust - If worried you need to arrange environmental monitoring and
comply with the OES for nuisance dust.
2. Vibration from the tools used to cut off the plaster.

Plaster of Paris is not an asthmagens therefore respiratory health
surveillance is not strictly needed to fulfil legislative requirements.

Some newer plaster materials have been shown to release isocyanates during
curing. As this is an asthmagen, you need to look at data sheets, do
environmental monitoring and consider controls as per the hierarchy. I f
exposure is occurring the RHS will be needed.

Subject: POP

hello everyone. i have been asked by my manager to do a risk asessment in
the A&E dept where the POP is used to try to establish whether any HCW
needs RHS if they work with the POP. Are there any hospitals out there
that do RHS for workeres that work with the POP?

any comments welcome
