This list is a fantastic resource. Diversity of information, opinion and advice should be encouraged for the benefit of all. As long as posts are legal and dont upset the reasonable sensibilities of its members (ie direct personal attacks, excessive profanity etc), then I suggest they should be allowed to stand. Copyright issues are a potential problem. In terms of the law, providing a link to an internet article is NOT an infringement of copyright. The copying and/or transmission of an electronic copy of a document can be illegal, although you should bear in mind the principle of "fair dealing" which allows the restricted copying/transmission of copyrighted material...... There are some useful guidelines here with regards to fair dealing: http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/services/elib/papers/pa/licence/fairnote.html The 1998 Copyright act states that the permitted purposes for fair dealing are: research or private study - any kind of research (not necessarily an academic course) including that for profit criticism or review - for example you may quote a passage from a book that is in copyright if you are writing a review of that book reporting current events - it has to be a topical event Fair dealing does not apply to information on databases if the intended use is commercial research. What is wrong with 'advertising jobs'. Yes there have been a few recently (and I have managed to secure one of these) at the end of the day this site should be a form of communication between OH professionals. There is very little alternative. So please don't spoil it for some. Nicola ----- Original Message ----- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please remove this footer before replying.
