We have an Amplivox too and at the same time bought "Fred the Head", an
Electro-Acoustic Ear, which is a very easy way of validating the readings.

We perform a manual check of our Amplivox audiometer daily (or at least on
the days that it is in use), listening to all frequencies at various

I am interested in knowing if anyone performs weekly / periodic checks on
there audio equipment?
I have an 'Asra' computer based audiometer which I have checked annually by
an external company.
I run through a check before each session of use (I check the headphone
codes and 3 frequencies etc); however in the HSE guidance notes it refers
to additional checks.
I would be grateful if anyone can tell me what these might be, or what
checks they perform ??
