Subject: Re: Musculoskeletal Assessment/Upper Limb Disorder Assessment

I've not picked up many of the responses to this subject but in my new
employment, there is a somewhat innovative approach, which certainly has
significant benefits.

All workers who report with musculoskeletal problems are referred for
Functional Testing undertaken by a specialist spsrts therapist. the results
are then analysed by a physiotherapist who refers to worker to either
physio, osteopath or chiropractic, all of which are on site. If there is
some doubt about the validity (honesty) of the worker having the functional
testing, then Distraction Tests are undertaken.

The system works very well. Whilst waiting for the initial Functional
Testing, the workers are temporarily put on light duties, identified by the
OHA then the longer term position is also undertaken by the OHA/ doc ho then
if necessary puts the worker on a longer period of lighter duties with
regular reviews and if needed more functional tets.

With kind regards,

James
