I am currently working as a 'triage advisor'. I am interested in information from anyone who has a similar role. Other titles include help- desk advisors. My job involves 'triaging' all referrals to the occupational health department. If the cases are not work related they are dealt with by myself. If the case involves advice or a simple referral to a third party I would also case manage. However, if the case is long standing or complicated I would pass it on to the regional occupational health advisor to case manage. Our cases should not remain 'open' for longer than 24-48 hours. Benefits of this role appears to be a faster turnaround time for referrals and reducing the workload of the regional occupational health advisors.
