James,

There are actually more areas than you would think at first look - Glasgow, Tyne-tees Area, the whole of the West midlands, Sheffield and Kent which encompasses up to south london and most of the south east. All areas are very big as individuals have to live and work in the pilot area for inclusion in the study. They are recruiting up to December of this year for volunteers and they have not even got half the volunteers needed yet. And what you can also do is use the same system outside of the scheme in other areas and pay for treatment - they have access to Specialists and this still speeds up treatment and can (in some cases) avoid a protracted waiting list on the NHS!

Regards

Jackie

Changing the subject slightly...if anybody has individuals who are off work
between 6 and 26 weeks ..... and are in a variety of areas in the UK they
can contact workcare a government rehab and return to work programme.  The
web site is www.workcare.org.uk they are looking for clients for this
project which will end early next year.

In the power generating industry we used to undertake emergency first aid
training for electricians on an annual basis.  I can't check at present but
I believe that there is a requirement under the Electricity at Work
Regulations.

Kind regards,

Maggie.

Hi Kennie,

I'm soory i'm unable to clarify this for you. I suspect that it is good
practice for electricians as I have no recollection of encountering this in
other industries where electricians have been employed.

Kind regards,

Giuliana

Hi,

I worked for a utility provider in the past and emergency first aid / CPR
training was conducted annually for electricians irrespective of the voltage
on which they worked.

kind regards,

Giuliana.

Could anybody advise whether all their electricians undergo CPR training or
is it just a requirement for electricians dealing with high voltage.

Kind regards

Sarah
