This is the fisrst call for contributions to the First International Workshop on Quantum Optics and Photonics (IWQOP-2004), which will be held from 18 to 23 October 2004, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Many important themes reflecting the current trends in laser sciences will be covered, extending from
fundamental laser induced molecular dynamics to applications in photonic materials:
* intense field physics;
* laser control and manipulation of quantum dynamics;
* production and applications of ultra short pulses;
* few-cycle and attosecond physics;
* laser imaging;
* photonic materials;
* telecommunications.
A tentative programme with some details on the organisational structure of the workshop is available
on the following web pages:
There will be no registration fee to participate to the workshop. However, the participants will have
to cover, by their own means, travel and hotel expenses.
Hanoi offers a nice setting for the workshop at this period of the year. The workshop is scheduled so
as not to overlap with the 9th Asia Pacific Physics Conference, also to be occuring in Hanoi, from Oct 25
to Oct. 31 and a French-Vietnamese thematic school on photonic materials to be held at DoSon, Vietnam at
the beginning of November. Some participants may also wish to attend these other meetings.
Thank you in advance for your interest. We count on your participation to make this workshop a success.
