OK, I know its a long way from the UK to the other side of Canada, but the website about this
conference has some interesting info - and the conference itself looks very interesting, albeit a
bit expensive at over £400 for the conference alone!

On the 'Mines and Money' website there is a lot of interest - for example there is a link to another
site with details on Britannia Mines reclamation work. (This is a large mine north of Vancouver
about 2/3 of the way to Squamish, which unless I am wrong is partly a show mine - at least it was).

British Columbia Mining Museum - Britannia Mines Visit

Visit the one time largest producer of copper in the British Empire - Britannia Mines.
The mine is now a museum and stands as testament to the tremendous environmental degradation of
mining but also gives a defining vision to thefuture of the mining world based on principles of
sustainability, technology, future innovation and future best practice.  The future innovation
