I hope you will be pleased to know that Joint Guidelines from LACA and the Museums Copyright Group <http://www.cilip.org.uk/committees/laca/directive.html> to help staff in museums and galleries, archives, libraries and information services concerning the changes to UK copyright law which took effect on 31st October 2003, are now available on the LACA website. These guidelines were commissioned from Graham Cornish by LACA: the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance (which is convened by CILIP) and MCG with financial support from Resource: the Council for Museums, Libraries and Archives. Just click on the link above for access. They may be freely reproduced and distributed in hard copy or digital format within the museums, galleries, archives, library and information professions provided that the source is acknowledged. Please remember however that while these guidelines are intended to interpret the law, they do not constitute legal advice. Neither the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance nor the Museums Copyright Group can be held responsible for any misinterpretation or inaccuracy in these guidelines.
