There are well over 50 commercial CMS products on the UK market at the present time, as well as many open-source products, making the choice a difficult one. Many of these products only have limited search functionality, so there may also be a need to purchase search software as well. As a CMS will have an impact throughout the organisation, especially for intranet users, any failure to select the most appropriate solution could have serious consequences. In more detail, the course will cover : Features and benefits of a CMS Evolution of Enterprise Content Management CMS and search technology options Writing a CMS specification in terms of business objectives Information architecture and metadata issues Managing the CMS product selection process Managing the implementation process Migration of legacy content Critical success factors Sources of information on content management and search software End UKOLUG THE UK E- INFORMATION GROUP For further details about the Group and membership contact: Christine Baker, The Old Chapel, Walden, West Burton, Leyburn, North Yorkshire DL8 4LE Tel & Fax: 01969 663749 Email: [log in to unmask]
