CILIP AGM in October 2004

On another matter, I will be abroad on business when the voting on  subscriptions and other issues takes place at the CILIP AGM in October 2004.  Will there be procedures in place for members like me who wish to vote but are unable to be at the AGM in person?

Please note that the call for nominations in the Annual Election to CILIP Council appears in the Library and Information Gazette to be published on 27 August 2004. The text of the Call for Nominations also follows this message. Following a decision by CILIP Council at their meeting on 13 July the election procedure will take place during the 2004 calendar year although members who are elected will not take up their seats on Council until April 2005.

Nominations must be delivered to the Administrator, The Policy & Governance Department, CILIP, 7 Ridgmount Street, London WC1E 7AE not later than 24 September 2004.  We regret that e-mail nominations cannot be accepted unless supported by the appropriate signed paperwork.  The Secretary (the Chief Executive of CILIP for this purpose) will obtain the candidatefs consent to serve and, if the candidate has been nominated for more than one category, they will be asked for a decision as to the category in which they wish to serve.  In such cases the nominators will be informed accordingly.

Voting papers will be posted to qualified voters in the mid-November and members will be notified of when to expect ballot papers in the Gazette and on the CILIP website

Any enquiries about this process should be addressed to the Policy and Governance Department at the Ridgmount Street offices at CILIP (Tel: 020 7255 0697; Email: [log in to unmask])
