BY-ELECTION OF NATIONAL COUNCILLOR TO SERVE UNTIL THE END OF MARCH 2005
SCRUTINEERS’ REPORT
We, being Scrutineers appointed by Council under the Byelaws to supervise the by-election of a National Councillor declare the result of the by-election to be as follows:
The number of voting papers issued: 17,222
The result of the election was:
Edwina Smart 1796
Hettie Jones 605
Monica Anderton 361
Number of ballots returned 2774
Disqualified before opening envelope 0
Disqualified after opening envelope 12
Percentage Returned 16%
Therefore we declare that Edwina Smart has been elected as National Councillor to serve in that office until the end of March 2005
