Dear
Pirkko,
As
Hon. International Relations Officer to CILIP-WM I'm replying to this e-mail.
Yes, there is definitely a small Library School in Malta. I was there last month
and talked to both staff of the School. I'm sure they would welcome your getting
in touch. The address is [log in to unmask] . Dr Lillian
Scibberas is Head of the School and Mrs Martes Paris is her Deputy. The School
is within the Centre for Communication Technology, University of Malta, MSD 06,
Malta.
As for
Cyprus, well, I've visited several times but only vaguely remember any mention
of a LIS school - probably in Greek Cyprus at Nicosia. Maybe the British Council
in Nicosia or the Cyprus Library Association might help? Best wishes keep in
touch - my e-mail is [log in to unmask]

I did
not think you would be on this list - it might be useful for you to contact them?

Does anyone know, whether the above 2 countries have their
own facilities for LIS education? If they do, what are they? (They are
not on Tom Wilson's list). I have been able to trace LIS education
institutions or departments in the other 8 new EU countries, but not in Cyprus
(South) nor Malta.
Many thanks in advance.
