For what it is worth, I think it is a good move as I feel charging by salary level invites inaccurate reporting by CILIP members, causes problems for those on very variable income, e.g., consultants, and invades members' personal privacy. I favour a set level for each level of membership, with Fellows paying the highest rate. However, anyone reading this should bear in mind the fact that I am an Honorary Fellow, and am in the happy position of not having to pay a subscription fee at all Charles .
