Heather will introduce the Bliss classification, explain its origins and
show how it is being used in Cambridge. In addition she will discuss
research issues and the future development of the scheme via a digital
platform.
Heather Lane is the Librarian of Sidney Sussex College, chair of the
Cambridge University Libraries Automation Group and represents the
colleges on the University General Board Committee on Libraries. She is
also Hon. Secretary to the Bliss Classification Association (BCA) and a
member of the Classification Research Group (CRG), as well as East of
England representative for CILIP's University, College & Research
Libraries group.
