Surely our primary care and public health librarians are so precious -
their expertise so vital, and their potential impact and workload so very
great at local level - that we can all benefit from a service that gathers
the evidence base on those questions that do come up regularly?

Despite the generalist nature of community and primary care, we all know
that there is some commonality. For my part, I'll be supporting the pilot
enthusiastically, welcoming the opportunity for us to maximise our impact
rather than waste scarce resource by replicating the wheel. Equally, I will
be looking carefully at how questions are filtered and selected, and at how
collaboration can be built so that this Primary Care Question Answering
Service develops as an indispensible, complementary service, trusted by
healthcare librarians and primary care staffs alike.
