Hungary and Slovakia 8-15 May 2005

The Career Development Group organises a biannual study tour to give library and information professionals the opportunity to visit libraries overseas. For next year's tour we will be visiting not one but two countries - Hungary and Slovakia. We'll spend a few days in Budapest, with two days in Bratislava in between. The distance between the two cities is approximately 160km.

Among the libraries we'll be visiting in Hungary are the Hungarian National Library, the Budapest Municipal Library and the library at the ancient monastery of Pannonhalma. In Bratislava visits will include the University Library and the Slovak Economic Library. There should also be an opportunity to meet informally with both Hungarian and Slovak library and information professionals.

Both Budapest and Bratislava are cities with much to offer the tourist. For more information on the two cities see:
