Subject: After chartering?Hi allStill struggling through my PDR and am hoping to get it done very soon. But what do if/when I finally charter?I have no ambition to move into management - I quite enjoy my current post - lots of variety, loads of different skills required etc, but it does not require a chartered librarian (Not since our job evaluation anyway)I did think about moving "sideways" - if that makes sense, and move into a different sort of library post rather than upwards, but how?Ideally I would love to specialise in usersupport, frontline work and research, but do such jobs exist?I apologise if this sounds like a thinly disguised cry for some free career advice off fellow library bods, but perhaps members of this list could share their after chartering experiences??All positive and encouraging replies are especially welcome as they will give me the kick up the backside I need complete my chartership. (Have been working on it for 2 and half years now...)Help!!AaronAaron ShakespeareAssistant Librarian for LawUniversity of WestminsterRegent Campus Library4-12 Little Titchfield StreetLondon W1W 7UWTel: 020 7911 5000 ext 2579Email: [log in to unmask]-----------------------------------------This email and its attachments are intended for the abovenamed only and may be confidential.
